(Washington, D.C., Wednesday, October 27, 2021) – The next several weeks are a crucial test for our community, state and country.

Members of Congress are debating the merits and cost of the Build Back Better plan. And soon, the House will also vote on the bi-partisan infrastructure plan, already passed by the Senate.

The opportunity to build a clean energy economy, improve the lives of our families and tackle climate change is at stake.

The fact is both the Build Back Better plan and bi-partisan infrastructure bill are good for our country. They will create good paying jobs in clean energy, reduce costs for families, promote healthier communities, and grow a clean energy economy.

The Environmental Defense Action Fund strongly supports Build Back Better and the bi-partisan infrastructure plan.

Toby S. Short leads a talented and passionate team of lobbyist for EDF Action that advocates for sound energy and environmental policies in front of Congress, the Administration and federal agencies. His team works hard to bridge the partisan divide on issues that will have significant and long-lasting impacts and push federal decision makers to realize the choice between a clean future and a robust economy are not mutually exclusive.

EDF Action, the advocacy partner of the Environmental Defense Fund, builds transformative political power to help protect our environment and the health of American families. We work with a broad range of allies across the country to combat climate change, reduce pollution and promote sustainable prosperity.

This means educating legislators about new innovative solutions, working across the aisle to build political momentum, mobilizing constituents to advocate for our health and environment, and working to elect pro-environment candidates while holding anti-environment politicians accountable. In addition, we are working to foster the next generation of climate leaders.

All this work will help build a durable and inclusive majority of pro-environment elected officials, which is needed to pass comprehensive climate legislation.
