Dear PSA Director,

The 2021 UN Climate Change Conference, Oct. 31-Nov. 12, is meeting amid the  worsening impacts of climate change  especially on people  who are least able to adapt to these changes. Government leaders will hopefully commit to  significantly reduce their country’s greenhouse gas emissions to prevent a catastrophic environmental collapse.

As one of the world’s largest emitter of these gasses, our government plays an important role in curbing the worst impacts of climate change especially on our most vulnerable communities. Congress has a moral obligation to set aside partisanship and respond to the climate crisis. Not only is the changing climate creating immense environmental harm, but members of our society who have traditionally been marginalized—communities of color  and low-income communities—bear a disproportionate amount of these adverse  impacts.

To correct this wrong, members of Congress should co-sponsor and publicly support the Environmental Justice for All Act (S. 872/H.R. 2021). This bill will address  environmental injustice by increasing  funds for federal environmental justice programs, and enhancing legal protections and enforcement.

Please help by placing this PSA in heavy rotation between now and Monday, November 22, 2021.

Thank you in advance for your support.
