Dear PSA Director,
Middle school can be tough, but it’s especially tough for kids who are experiencing loss. Whether due to the death of a parent, sibling, or close family member, navigating grief at a young age presents unique challenges that can have lasting effects on a child’s emotional well-being and development.
“Lost in the Middle” is the second in a 3-part series of public service announcements focused on helping children with grief. In this new PSA from First Book and New York Life Foundation, we discover how making connections can help healing, and that comfort can also be found in the story and characters of a graphic novel.
As a leading nonprofit, First Book’s mission is to bring high-quality books and resources to educators serving children in need. With support from New York Life Foundation, this campaign seeks to increase access to bereavement books and resources among educators in underserved communities.
To learn more about how educators and parents can access valuable resources to support grieving children, please go to Firstbook.org/GriefSupport.
We hope you will support this initiative by broadcasting the enclosed spots whenever public service time is available throughout the year. The PSAs are evergreen; there is no end date. The third PSA in this series will be launching in October 2024.
Thank you!
