(Atlanta, GA, Tuesday, September 27, 2022) – The pandemic created financial issues and concerns for many Georgians, including homeowners and their families. For those who have experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19, the Georgia Mortgage Assistance is available to assist those who qualify and apply to the program.
Georgia was allocated $354M in stimulus funds through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is administering these funds through the Mortgage Assistance program. These funds are available to homeowners who have suffered a hardship caused by the pandemic that resulted in a financial hardship and need for assistance. The following assistance is available:
- Mortgage Reinstatement
- Principal Curtailment
- Housing Related Expenses
This is a limited funding program, scheduled to end September 2026 or when funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.
