September is Life Insurance Awareness Month in the US, and a recent study has revealed that two thirds of households in America would not be able to cover just a few months of basic living expenses in the event of the death of the family breadwinner.

Neil Sprackling, President of U.S. Life and Health for Swiss Re, says one of the causes of this financial shortfall is the consumer’s underestimation of the level of protection their family requires.
