(Fort Washington, PA, Friday, December 4, 2020) – According to a survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Nutrisystem, 76% of respondents gained up to 16 pounds between mid-March and July 2020.
That same survey shows that diet intenders in the U.S. are now looking to return to healthy habits – prioritizing eating healthier, being more physically active, and losing weight.
Americans are now going out less and online shopping more. The average percent of online shopping has doubled during the current pandemic. While frequency of in-store shopping has declined to once every 1-2 weeks, online shopping frequency has increased to a weekly basis.
Survey results also show that diet intenders are now purchasing frozen entrees up to 35% more than they did prior to the pandemic.
As “cooking fatigue” sets in, more Americans are turning to frozen foods for longer-lasting meals, minimizing trips to the grocery store, and easier prep and cleanup.
Dr. Joan Salge Blake will share insights on why frozen meals and programs such as Nutrisystem are such a great option for healthy and convenient eating, and how to “plant-ify” your meals to add a little more bulk and flavor.
