(Washington, D.C., Thursday, July 16, 2020) – The National Safety Council’s Check To Protect campaign is launching a first-of-its-kind service to improve consumer awareness of safety recalls. The new Vehicle Recall Concierge Platform enables consumers to identify and stay up to date on vehicle safety recalls via text message through a proprietary platform, MyCarRecall. Any driver can text RECALL to 99724 to receive English-language communications or REVISA to 99724 to receive Spanish-language communications that alert them of an open recall, and provide support in getting it repaired.

The goal is to raise awareness for the importance of getting vehicle safety recalls fixed, to increase awareness of how dangerous they can be if they go unrepaired, and to support all drivers in checking their recall status and repairing their vehicles.

Kelly Nantel, vice president of roadway practice at the National Safety Council, explains the new platform.
