The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Integrated Health Suite
August 22, 2017 (Rockville, Md.) — With gratitude, Cornerstone Montgomery President and CEO Cari Guthrie Cho, announced today that Cornerstone Montgomery received their single largest gift toward their Shortest Path to a Better Life Capital Campaign. The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. gifted Cornerstone Montgomery $600,000 to dedicate the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Integrated Health Suite, which co-locates behavioral health with primary care and dental services. “This transformational gift will truly revolutionize the way people are able to address their medical and mental health needs as the services are offered all under one roof,” said Cornerstone Montgomery’s President and CEO Cari Guthrie Cho.
The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Integrated Health Suite is located within an innovative facility that will serve more than 1,000 Montgomery County residents annually, including 70 women residing on site at the Interfaith Works Women’s Center. The facilities offer enhanced integration of mental health services, primary health care and shelter services in an accessible, safe setting, with care coordinated across providers. Sharing a location with CCI Health & Wellness Services and Cornerstone Montgomery provides shelter residents easy access to medical, dental and behavioral services on site. Additionally, many of the individuals receiving services at each of these facilities face significant transportation limitations in seeking care – the co-location of these services greatly increases the likelihood they will be able address their needs successfully and in a timely fashion.
At the site: CCI Health & Wellness Services provides primary care services, family planning, dental care, HIV and Infectious Disease Testing and Care and referrals to specialty care. Cornerstone Montgomery provides behavioral health services including vocational supports, outpatient mental health services, life skills training, and case management to more than 600 individuals annually. This will be Cornerstone Montgomery’s 3rd location providing these services under one roof. Interfaith Works Women’s Center provides residential services to 70 women who previously experienced homelessness. The center focuses on stabilization and empowerment, providing residents with emergency and longer-term shelter, as well as daily meals, case management, referrals to essential services, access to laundry facilities, vocational training services and an array of classes offered with the help of volunteers.
