The electronic health record system serving U.S. veterans through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is being upgraded. The V-A has awarded a contract to improve the system, called VistA, which provides an electronic health record to optimize quality medical care for veterans. The V-A’s Computerized Patient Record System will also be updated, providing a web-based single interface for managing patient care and records.
Jim Traficant, president of A-S-M Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company, which has been awarded the contract, outlines the benefits of modernizing the records.
