(Wormleysburg, PA, Wednesday, April 10, 2019) – According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), 8.4 million people nationwide signed up for health care coverage via healthcare.gov—the federal marketplace—during open enrollment. This includes over 2 million new consumers and over 6.3 million people renewing coverage.
Enrolling in coverage is just the first step—consumers need to also understand how to use all the benefits that are in a health plan and what services are covered. It’s also important to understand what kind of coverage you have – some plans offer only short-term coverage and may not cover the services you need.
If you do not have a primary care physician consider getting one that accepts your insurance. There are more than 300 sites in 52 out of the 67 counties in rural and urban areas throughout Pennsylvania. Heath Centers offer quality and comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services for all ages.
We provide this care regardless of insurance status or patient’s ability to pay. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, self-pay and most private insurance. We offer sliding-fee discounts to all income eligible uninsured or underinsured patients based on family size and household income.
Regardless if you are uninsured or if you lose your coverage, you can still receive care at a Health Center. Many health plans do not provide dental coverage, but you may be able to access those services at a Health Center. To find a Health Center located near you, visit pachc.org.
