Florida Power and Light’s, Florencia Contesse says infrastructure damage and power outages are inevitable when a hurricane strikes and provides safety tips.

TURN YOUR REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER TO THEIR COLDEST SETTING TO KEEP FOOD FRESH IN THE EVENT OF A POWER OUTAGE. IF YOU SEE A DOWNED POWER LINE, CONSIDER IT ENERGIZED, STAY FAR AWAY AND CALL 9-1-1.
