Sandy Hook Promise Families Launch Movement to Stop Gun Violence

“Parent Together” Calls on all Parents to Find Solutions to Stop Gun Violence

As we approach the one year mark since the heart-breaking tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, which took the lives of 20 children and 6 educators, the Sandy Hook Promise families have worked to build and launch a movement to unite parents across the nation, despite all their differences, in their shared love for their children.

The campaign, called Parent Together, reminds parents of differing backgrounds, philosophies, beliefs and even dissenting points of view that beyond all of our differences, we are first and foremost parents.  And as parents, we have a responsibility to our children, our communities and ourselves to heed Sandy Hook Promise’s call and come together to inspire honest and open dialogue about solutions to gun violence.

We ask that you play this Parent Together PSA in heavy rotation to remind your listeners that we must stand together to advocate for ending the causes of gun violence through increased attention to mental wellbeing, community strengthening and responsible gun ownership.

Parents can promise to Parent Together by visiting SandyHookPromise.org and raising their hand, pledging to parent together via video or social media.
