(San Francisco, CA, Friday, November 11, 2022) – For the nearly 200,000 veterans leaving active service each year, the transition can be difficult because military skills do not always fit seamlessly into civilian careers. At the same time, 87 percent of companies say they face a digital skills gap. To address the challenges of both veterans and employers, Transition Overwatch has created Military Apprenticeship Hubs in four locations throughout the country.
Through partnerships with the U.S. Department of Labor and national and local employers ranging from MassMutual Insurance to Crunch Fitness, Transition Overwatch’s first-of-its-kind, hyper-local approach brings together community organizations, government, and forward-thinking employers to support military transition through apprenticeship. Through these hubs, the organization aims not only to align, equip, and launch 20,000 transitioning military members every year into new-collar careers but also to help employers grow a diverse local talent pool with the skills required to meet today’s business demands.
Transition Overwatch’s Founder and CEO Sean Ofeldt shares his story and discuss the local apprenticeship program and its benefit to members of the military and local businesses.
