(Fort Washington, PA, Thursday, May 11, 2017) – A survey conducted online in the U.S. polled parents of kids over the age of 18 and found that nearly half (45%) say they eat less healthy now than they did before they became a parent. About 2 in 3 (65%) believe they are guilty of indulging in their child’s leftovers.

With Mother’s Day approaching, there are simple things mothers everywhere can do to get healthier.

Melissa Joan Hart, actress, mother-of-three and Nutrisystem ambassador, discusses her tips for staying healthy.

SOUNDBITE #1:

WELL YOU KNOW MOTHER’S DAY IS A GREAT TIME TO RE-FOCUS ON OURSELVES AND OUR HEALTH ‘CAUSE AS MOMS, WE’RE ALWAYS ON THE GO, AND MORE OFTEN WE’RE  CONCERNED WITH THE HEALTH AND HAPPINESS OF OUR FAMILIES. SO ONE GREAT TIP FOR GETTING – AND STAYING – HEALTHY IS TO FIND A DIET OR WORKOUT BUDDY. GETTING HEALTHY WITH A FRIEND REALLY HELPS YOU REMAIN ACCOUNTABLE AND MOTIVATED. PLUS, IT MAKES IT FUN. YOU KNOW, YOU FIND A PLAN THAT WORKS FOR YOU SO YOU CAN STICK WITH IT.

SOUNDBITE #2:

WELL I THINK IT’S A GREAT IDEA TO ALWAYS BE READY, YOU KNOW WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK OUT COMES UP. I RE-STOCK MY GYM BAG DAILY, AND ALWAYS HAVE IT WITH ME IN THE CAR, IN THE DRESSING ROOM, OR ON SET. AND I ALSO SUGGEST PLANNING AHEAD OF TIME FOR SNACK ATTACKS. SNACKING IS ONE OF THE EASIEST WAYS TO DERAIL YOUR HEALTHY HABITS, BUT WITH A LITTLE SIMPLE PLANNING AHEAD, YOU CAN CURB THOSE SNACK ATTACKS WITH SOMETHING HEALTHY.
