(Washington, D.C., Tuesday, September 24, 2019) – The Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU), a South Korean government-funded research institute in areas of unification and North Korean research, has invited Anthony Wier to participate in the September 18, 2019, KINU international conference titled “One Year after the Pyongyang Joint Declaration of September 2018: Achievements and Tasks.”
The conference aims to shed a light on historical and symbolic meanings of Pyongyang Joint Declaration of September 2018 and to explore policy options on denuclearization and the Korean Peninsula peace process on the Korean Peninsula. It will also include a trip to the DMZ.
Anthony has been invited to present a paper and serve as a panelist on American and North Korean perspectives over the definition, scope, and roadmap of the North’s denuclearization and its corresponding US measures, which will be conducted as a roundtable discussion.
