(INTRO)

A parasitic disease known as Cryptosporidiosis is currently affecting people in two major Florida cities, Tampa and Jacksonville. “Crypto” is one of the most prevalent causes of waterborne illnesses in the United States. It most frequently impacts children and their caregivers.  The most common symptom is diarrhea.

Dr. Jean-François Rossignol, chief scientific officer and founder of Romark Laboratories, says that summer and early fall, are the peak times of year for outbreaks to occur but those affected don’t have to suffer.

(ROSSIGNOL)

WITHOUT TREATMENT THE SYMPTOMS OF THE DISEASE CAN LAST A FEW DAYS TO A FEW WEEKS, BUT PROPER TREATMENT CAN REDUCE THE DURATION OF DIARRHEA. THOSE AFFECTED SHOULD CONSULT WITH THEIR DOCTORS. IF LEFT UNTREATED, THE PARASITE CAN LEAVE LASTING GASTROINTESTINAL DAMAGE.
