(Coronado, CA, Thursday, March 25, 2021) – 2021 will be a big year for climate action. Congress is actively working to decide what climate policies to push forward later this year. Citizens’ Climate Lobby volunteers are helping steer the conversation.
The week of March 22 through the end of the month, Citizens’ Climate Lobby volunteers are holding approximately 450 meetings with congressional offices.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby has 181,994 supporters throughout the U.S., covering every congressional district in the country.
- 4,647 supporters in Indiana;
- 840 supporters in Kentucky; and
- 3,491 supporters in Ohio.
In 2020, their volunteers: held 1,181 lobby meetings with congressional offices (mostly virtual); generated 18,621 calls to Congress; and sent 26,326 personal letters to Congress.
Topher is a young conservative man and a practicing Catholic. He believes Congress taking climate action is right in line with his conservative values and his priorities/concerns as a Catholic. He has met with congressional offices many times before, and he will be participating in their nationwide lobby push as well.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change solutions. Specifically, the solution they support is a price on carbon pollution.
