May 15 marks Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Global Awareness Day. Also known as TSC, it’s a relatively little known, but devastating genetic disorder affecting more than one million people worldwide. Generally diagnosed in childhood, TSC causes tumors to form throughout the body, including in the brain and heart. It is linked to autism, epilepsy, kidney failure, learning disabilities, and more.
