Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation became official on July 1, ushering in a new era for online marketing.  Despite this long-anticipated milestone, new survey data from small business marketing company Constant Contact reveals that the majority of Canadian small businesses aren’t prepared for the new legislation. Less than half of small businesses understand how to be compliant, just 33 percent are aware of the penalties associated with non-compliance, and only 29 percent began preparing for CASL ahead of July 1.

THE SURVEY RESULTS SHOW THAT SMALL BUSINESS ARE BEHIND THE CURVE WHEN IT COMES TO FULLY UNDERSTANDING THE NEW LEGISLATION AND WHAT STEPS THEY NEED TO TAKE TO BE COMPLIANT. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THEY AREN’T DONE. WE HAVE CREATED A FREE CASL RESOURCE CENTER AND TOOLS THAT WILL HELP SMALL BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS BECOME COMPLIANT MARKETERS.
