MoneySKILL is a Free Online Personal Finance Course for Students of All Ages

(Washington D.C., Tuesday, June 12, 2018) – Personal financial literacy is critical to succeed in today’s world but, study after study shows that many Americans are in need of a deeper understanding of financial concepts. While an abundance of financial education exists, it is clearly underutilized.
MoneySKILL is a free online personal finance course for students of all ages. The goal is to educate users on money management fundamentals and provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to make sound financial decisions and to avoid the pitfalls of over-indebtedness, repossession, home foreclosure and bankruptcy.
MoneySKILL is a comprehensive and customizable program that educates students on the areas of income, expenses, saving and investing, credit, and insurance. It continues to increase its reach each year, with now more than 850,000 users from all 50 states and several countries.
Now available in Spanish, MoneySKILL en Español will offer all 37 modules in Spanish.
MoneySKILL is a program of the American Financial Services Association Education Foundation. The program is designed to be used as all or part of a course in personal finance, economics, business, math, social studies, or wherever financial literacy is taught. The online delivery allows teachers to educate themselves on personal finance concepts prior to the students beginning the course.
Students can access the modules in the classroom or at home. Built-in quizzes test the students’ grasp of each concept presented. The curriculum and technology are updated regularly.
