TESARO Is Committed to Helping Women Fighting Ovarian Cancer

(Waltham, MA, Friday, September 2, 2016) – September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. An estimated one in 75 women will develop ovarian cancer during her lifetime. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be more than 22,000 new cases of ovarian cancer diagnosed this year in the United States, and more than 14,000 women will die from this disease in 2016. 
An oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Waltham, TESARO, is partnering with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (or NOCC) to support their annual Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer. This event is hosted annually by more than 25 chapters nationwide, including South Boston on Sunday, September 11 and Nashua, New Hampshire on Sunday, September 18.
