Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates Centerfielder, three-time All-Star and 2013 National League MVP
(Bellevue, WA, Wednesday, May 7, 2014) – T-Mobile US, Inc. has un-leashed Americans by rewriting the rules of wireless – and they’ve responded by making T-Mobile America’s fastest growing wireless company. On Tuesday, May 6, America’s Un-carrier announced it is teaming up with Major League Baseball to take its people-power movement to America’s pastime – with the creation of a new fan-chosen MLB award – the T-Mobile MLB Game Changer Award. This season, T-Mobile will also feature All-Stars Bryce Harper and Andrew McCutchen in a national TV campaign, with a new commercial starring Harper premiering nationally on ESPN’s Wednesday Night Baseball.
T-Mobile and MLB invite America’s baseball faithful to call out the most pivotal game-changing moments throughout the season – with the fans themselves voting for the most significant game-changing moments, and culminating in honors awarded at the close of the season.
T-Mobile MLB Game Changer will live on mlb.com/t-mobile. Each day, beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET, fans themselves will be able to vote for one of two game-changing moments – with the Daily Champion advancing to the next day to face a new challenger. During the final week of the season, fans vote for one of the top five Daily Champions. The winner of this fan vote will receive the “T-Mobile MLB Game Changer of the Year” award, presented at the close of the regular season.
Fans voting via Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #Champion or #Challenger will be entered for a chance to win prizes each week, ranging from game tickets and MLB merchandise to T-Mobile devices and accessories.
