(INTRO)

April is the Month of the Military Child and this month the Real Warriors Campaign encourages Americans to honor the nation’s 1.8 million military children and families of returning warriors.

Campaign volunteer Sheri Hall, a military spouse and mother of two, knows firsthand that a returning military family member can mean a big adjustment for the entire family.

(HALL)
WHEN A MILITARY MOM OR DAD RETURNS HOME, THE FAMILY IS FEELING A SENSE OF RELIEF AND EXCITEMENT. SOMETIMES IT’S HARD TO ADMIT, BUT THERE IS THAT LEVEL OF STRESS THERE TOO. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO FAMILY COMMUNICATION – CREATING THOSE OPPORTUNITIES TO TALK WITH YOUR KIDS, ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS THEY HAVE HONESTLY AND LETTING THEM KNOW YOU ARE THERE FOR THEM. ABOVE ALL, DON’T BE AFRAID TO REACH OUT FOR HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT.
