It’s Not Too Late to Get a Great Seasonal Job

Steve Gaut, Spokesperson, UPS

(Atlanta, GA, Tuesday, December 12, 2017) We all know procrastinators who wait until the last minute to do everything, including their holiday shopping. Some great news today for those chronic procrastinators — it’s not too late to get a great seasonal job. UPS has announced that it’s still hiring for good paying seasonal jobs at company locations across the country.

The full and part-time seasonal positions – primarily package handlers, drivers and driver-helpers – are not only a way to earn some extra cash, they’ve also long been an entry point for a permanent job when the holiday rush is over. Many senior executives started their careers as part-time employees, including CEO David Abney.

Spokesperson Steve Gaut explains how interested job seekers can easily apply for holiday season opportunities.

SOUNDBITE #1:

WE ARE FORECASTING TO DELIVER A RECORD SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION HOLIDAY PACKAGES THIS YEAR DURING THIS EXTRA-BUSY HOLIDAY SHIPPING SEASON.  IN FACT, CYBER MONDAY WAS THE LARGEST ONLINE SHOPPING DAY IN U.S. HISTORY – SO WE STILL HAVE LOTS OF GOOD JOBS AVAILABLE HELPING US GET ALL THOSE HOLIDAY PURCHASES DELIVERED, AND WE WILL BE HIRING LATER INTO DECEMBER THIS YEAR.

SOUNDBITE #2:

THESE ARE NOT ONLY GREAT SEASONAL JOBS; THEY HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO LEAD TO  GREAT CAREERS. OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS, THIRTY-FIVE PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE WE HIRED FOR SEASONAL PACKAGE HANDLER JOBS WERE LATER HIRED IN A REGULAR POSITION WITH EXCELLENT BENEFITS WHEN THE HOLIDAYS WERE OVER.

UPS is hiring now for all seasonal positions. For more information or to apply, please visit UPSjobs.com.
