(Baton Rouge, LA, Thursday, July 14, 2016) - The American Hospital Association is committed to recognizing hospital excellence.  Each year, the AHA-McKesson Quest for Quality prize is awarded to hospitals for their exemplary achievements in quality, safety and patient-centered care.

This year, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital is a 2016 AHA-McKesson Quest for Quality Citation of Merit Honoree. 

Dr. Steven Gremillion, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, describes the hospital award-winning program.

IN A STATE AND LOCAL COMMUNITY FOREVER CHANGED FOLLOWING HURRICANE KATRINA, WE MADE IT A PRIORITY TO HELP HEAL THE COMMUNITY THROUGH CLINICS, CHURCHES AND SCHOOLS. WE ALSO EMBRACED PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR RESIDENTS, INTERNS AND OTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AFTER THE HURRICANE DESTROYED THE CLINICAL SITES IN WHICH THOSE TRAINEES WERE BEING EDUCATED.

DESPITE THE MANY CHALLENGES THE HOSPITAL HAS FACED, OUR LEADERS AND STAFF LIVE OUR ORGANIZATION’S MISSION AND WILL CONTINUE OUR QUALITY AND SAFETY JOURNEY.
