(INTRO)

A group of small business owners are speaking out about lawsuit abuse issues in Florida. They are participating in a campaign focused on making business owners’ concerns heard in the legal system.

Jim Graber, small business owner in Altamonte Springs, explains.

(GRABER)

AS ONE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN INSURING ASPECTS OF THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS, I CAN ATTEST TO THE SAD, EGREGIOUS, AND ALL-TO-OFTEN SUCCESSFUL EFFORTS BY THE PLAINTIFFS' BAR TO EXTORT MONEY FROM INNOCENT BUSINESSES. WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS.

Additionally, a new report shows Florida’s legal climate is at risk of getting worse. Tom Scott, spokesperson from grassroots organization Sick of Lawsuits, which issued the report, explains.

(SCOTT)

STATES, ESPECIALLY NEIGHBORING ONES, ARE COMPETING EVERY DAY FOR JOBS, BUSINESSES AND TALENTED PEOPLE. WHETHER A STATE LEGAL CLIMATE MAKES YOU MORE OR LESS OF A LAWSUIT TARGET MATTERS – AND SADLY, FLORIDA IS MOVING BACKWARDS IN TERMS OF LAWSUIT REFORM.
