A parasitic disease known as Cryptosporidiosis (Crypto) is currently affecting people in Knoxville. Crypto is one of the most prevalent causes of waterborne illnesses in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Jean-François Rossignol, chief medical and scientific officer and founder of Romark Laboratories, says that summer and early fall are the peak times of year for outbreaks to occur but those affected don’t have to suffer.
