Biometrics are unique physical characteristics, such as fingerprints, or a iris scan that can be used for identity recognition. A new study finds that 89 percent of those surveyed across the US, U.K, Germany, France Australia and Japan are willing to share their biometric details when traveling across international borders. However, 69 percent say they have not shared any biometric information to date.
Mark Crego, who leads border and identity services at Accenture, says border agencies have a unique opportunity to harness citizen support for biometrics by introducing new technologies that support faster, more efficient and secure travel.
