(Montgomery County, MD, Tuesday, September 27, 2016) - To help erase the stigma around mental illness, Cornerstone Montgomery will launch a bold, new social media campaign called I Nailed It…4 Mental Health, October 10-17, to coincide with World Mental Health Day, Monday October 10. “All people need to do is get their nails done at one of the dozens of participating nail salons and spas in the DC metro area to help raise money for the cause,” said Heidi Webb, Chief Development Officer, Cornerstone Montgomery. “It’s that simple and fun.”
During the week of October 10th, patrons of participating nail salons and spas will not be asked to pay more for their manicures, pedicures and other nail services, but will be encouraged to share their nail salon experience on social media, by using the hashtag #INailedIt4MentalHealth and tagging their local salon and Cornerstone Montgomery @CornerstoneMoCo. Patrons will also be invited to share their thoughts about mental health, if they so choose.
In a show of support for Cornerstone Montgomery, participating nail salons and spas will be making a donation. “The nail salons and spas are the true heroes of this campaign; we thank them for their generosity and in return we expect they will receive unprecedented social media exposure and the likelihood of increased foot traffic during that week,” Webb said.
